Led by songwriter and vocalist Karl-Johan Jonsson, Grand Trunk Travellers play vintage-tinged singer/songwriter rock with an intimate, organic character.
Over the years, the Scandinavian band have taken their music from festivals and cafés to television, weddings, living rooms – and even a staircase in Riga. Acoustic guitars sit alongside instruments such as harmonium, glockenspiel and piano, allowing the band to move naturally between a full-band sound and something much more stripped down.
The project is currently on hold following Karl-Johan’s move to Thailand, but the story isn’t necessarily finished. Songs are still being written and a substantial amount of recorded, unreleased material remains in the archive.
Good songs don’t really have an expiration date.
