JONO is the solo AOR project of Swedish singer, songwriter and musician Jonatan “Jono” Samuelsson, also known as the bassist of Narnia and Starmen.
Rooted firmly in the melodic rock of the 1980s, JONO combines lead vocals, layered keyboards, melodic guitars and big choruses, with musical reference points including Europe, Journey, Toto and Survivor. The recordings feature Narnia bandmates CJ Grimmark and Anders Köllerfors.
The first two singles, Silver Screen and Don’t Look Back, introduced the sound and direction of the project, while work continues towards a full-length debut album.
There’s no attempt to hide the 80s influence here. That’s rather the point.
