Peter Carlsohn’s The Rise – A Lifetime of Rock & Roll

After decades on stages around the world, Jerusalem bassist Peter Carlsohn stepped up to the microphone with a project of his own.

Peter Carlsohn’s musical journey stretches back to the 1970s. In 1980 he joined legendary Swedish Christian rock band Jerusalem and went on to record and tour internationally with the band for decades.

With Peter Carlsohn’s The Rise, however, Peter took another step. Out of the Blue, released through JONO in 2020, was his debut as a solo artist. He wrote, arranged and produced the material, played bass and handled lead vocals throughout the album.

The result is melodic hard rock with plenty of hooks, vocal harmonies, Hammond organ and a healthy dose of 70s and 80s attitude – deliberately avoiding becoming too polished.

After a lifetime of playing other people’s stages, The Rise gives Peter’s own songs centre stage.
