House on a Hill – Sänd ditt regn (CD – jewelcase)

House On A Hill makes their record debut with the album “Sänd ditt regn” (“Send Your Rain”), but are far from beginners.

The worship collective House On A Hill led by Johannes Karlsson (formerly Safemode) and wife Johanna started in 2020, but both have long experience of active involvement in various worship contexts.

Johannes has previously, among other things, produced the album “Med lyfta händer” by Simeon Thelander and Samuel Lundell, which was released in Adora‘s hymn series Gemenskap (Community), and together the spouses are involved in the hymns in their home congregation, Korskyrkan in Östervåla.

In 2020, the debut single “Trofast Gud” (“Faithful God”) was released digitally to point to our mighty Creator, who holds everything in His hand, even though the world is currently shaken.

This firm certainty is a consistent theme in the songs on the new album. All the songs are self-written hymns in both Swedish and English, but the album also contains a cover of Brenton Brown‘s “Everlasting God”, a version that Brenton himself expressed that he likes.

Musically, it’s about modern worship with rock influences based on acoustic guitar, which makes many of the songs easy to pick up for churches and different contexts.

– Worship is the foundation of our lives and everything starts there. I believe that God is about to do great things in our country but perhaps in a new and different way and worship always paves the way and prepares us for what God wants to do. Our longing is to see God’s Spirit lead us in a new way and for our lives to be a song of praise to God, and with that starting point, the album was created. say Johannes and Johanna themselves about the record.
